Terms of service
Short and direct, on purpose. By using Mailfume, you agree to the following.
What the service is
Mailfume provides temporary, randomly generated email addresses that can receive mail for a limited time. It is a receive-only service: there is no way to send mail, reply to a message, or use a Mailfume address as an outbound sender. Every address and everything sent to it is temporary by design.
No guarantee of delivery
We do not guarantee that any given message sent to a Mailfume address will be delivered, captured, or shown to you. Mail may be delayed, dropped, or fail to arrive at all due to factors including but not limited to the sending server's behavior, spam filtering, rate limits, or the inbox no longer existing by the time the mail arrives. If you send anything important to a Mailfume address, you do so understanding it may never appear.
No guarantee of retention
Inboxes and their messages exist only for their stated lifetime — 60 minutes from creation by default, extendable using the Extend control, but never indefinite. When an inbox's timer ends, it is permanently deleted along with every message and attachment it contained, with no backup and no way to restore it. We make no commitment that any message will still be available at any particular later time, even a few minutes after you last checked it.
Mail sent to addresses with no live inbox is dropped
If a message is sent to an address for which there is no currently active inbox — whether it never existed, already expired, or was never created — that mail is discarded rather than stored or queued. There is no way to retroactively claim mail sent to an address after the fact.
Don't use disposable addresses for anything you need to keep
Mailfume addresses are not suitable for account recovery, password resets on accounts you intend to keep, billing or order correspondence, or anything else you might need to access again later. If the address expires — which it will — any link, code, or message sent to it afterward is unrecoverable. Using a disposable address for something you actually need long-term access to is a decision you're making at your own risk; the service isn't built to support it.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use Mailfume for any unlawful purpose, including but not limited to fraud, harassment, evading a legitimate service's terms in a way that causes harm to that service or its users, or attempting to circumvent the rate limits or abuse protections described in the FAQ and privacy policy. We reserve the right to block, rate-limit, or otherwise restrict access from any source we determine, at our discretion, to be abusing the service.
No warranty
The service is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to availability, uptime, fitness for a particular purpose, or that the service will be free of errors or interruptions. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service, including specific features or the service as a whole, at any time and without prior notice.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Mailfume and its operators are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to lost access to an account, missed communications, or reliance on mail delivery or message retention that this service does not guarantee.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated from time to time as the service changes. Continued use of Mailfume after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
